Notification on Annual Revenue Reporting for FSC® Certificate Holders

Dear FSC® Certificate Holders,

According to the new FSC® Annual Administration Fee (AAF) policy (FSC-POL-20-005 V3-1) released by FSC®, a new method for calculating the AAF for FSC® certificate holders will be implemented starting July 1, 2022.

FSC® requires all certificate holders to provide their forest products turnover information for the previous complete fiscal year through their certification bodies. FSC® will use this information to determine the AAF tier and the annual administration fee amount according to the new AAF policy. If certification bodies fail to update the FSC® certification database as required, FSC® will use the higher intermediate value of the revised AAF fee schedule to calculate the AAF for certificate holders managed by the certification body starting June 15, 2022.

According to GFA's requirements, FSC® certificate holders in China must report their turnover data (used only for AAF determination) to Kaixin Certification (Beijing) Co., Ltd. by May 10, 2022. If certificate holders refuse to provide the required turnover data by this date, GFA has the right to suspend the certification (AAF must still be paid during the suspension).

Definitions:
1. Forest Products Turnover: Refers to the revenue from all certified and uncertified forest products and products containing wood or fiber components. It is clarified that forest products turnover does not include service income.
2. Total Revenue: Refers to the total income an organization receives from providing goods and services, minus trade discounts, VAT, and any other taxes based on this income, and excluding sales between group companies (specifically after group financial statements are consolidated).
3. Processor: Refers to individuals or legal entities that purchase, legally own, and sell wood and/or non-wood forest products after transforming them directly or through outsourcing.
4. Trader: Refers to any individual or legal entity that buys and sells wood and/or non-wood forest products and legally owns these products. Traders do not transform the products, either directly or through outsourcing.

FSC® certificate holders should use this template to report their turnover information and send it to fcd-info@kcb-china.com by May 10, 2022.
